2010 Invitational Championship Snakeskin Leather Pants League

After the first round of matches I must offer congratulations to the Good ol' Boys for their blistering start, though Shaun's Inca Trailers weren't far behind.

The highest scoring player of the week was Darren Ward (Millwall) who was the stand out player in Simmonds... for the win with 6 points, though he was only just ahead off Adel Taarabt (QPR).

The biggest disappointment was David James (Bristol City) who suffered on his debut in which he accrued a risible -2 points, though he wasn't the biggest loser as that award goes to Jay McEveley (Barnsley) who couldn't live up to his Football Manager reputation and suffered with a grand old total of -3 points.

Established Championship players formed the spine of every team though they weren't all as successful as each other, Darren Ambrose (Crystal Palace), and Gylfi Sigurdsson (Reading) had fine games and were rewarded with 3 points a piece, whereas Peter Whittingham (Cardiff) and David Norris (Ipswich) both scored a big giant Godzilla size zero.

Waste was a theme common throughout each team with 11 selected players not even playing, with Simmonds... for the win selecting 5 players who didn't play due to injury or being too rubbish to play.

My tip for next week is Scott Sinclair, who just signed for Swansea from the Russian owned team from London (whose name escapes me), oh and put good players in your team who score lots of points, if only it were that simple.

Good luck to one and all.

P.S. this article is awesome.
